To promote Chinese culture, London Pei Ying Chinese School actively encourages pupils to join external competitions and also internally organises activities. We currently offer the following before school clubs:
- Storytelling
- Calligraphy
These classes are free to the pupils and are run by our enthusiastic teachers and helpers. We also run seasonal workshops such as Christmas Card Making and Chinese New Year Card Making. For more information visit our Clubs & Activities page for more opening time.
Storytelling Club
In our storytelling club, students explore stories ranging from classic Chinese novels like "The journey to the West" to folktales like "The Butterfly Lovers" to classic stories and to some very popular modern pictured books.
Learning Mandarin is a long journey. It is not about how many characters pupils have learned, it is about how much pupils can utilise and have internalised. Through storytelling, pupils are not only learning Chinese traditional culture but are also learning Chinese languages through a variety of stories.
Storytelling club opening time term time 12:45 pm – 1:15 pm
Calligraphy Club
